Will: yes. It does. Not even quoting Animal Collective in your away message can prevent the loss of hipster points.

What the hell is a "hipster point"? Can I exchange a bunch of them for a cheap Chinese fan, ala Showbiz/Chuck E. Cheese Pizza?
Wow, it seems compared to all your other friends I am the greatest hipster asshole of them all. How did it come to this? I feel like Michael Douglas in Falling Down if he'd packed a mp3 blog instead of a shotgun. I sincerely apologize for my behavior.
Dancing to the Killers? I don't know about hipster points per say, but you sure do lose dignity points in my book. Don't feel bad though, I listen and rock out to Muse's "Knights of Cydonia" far too often- I've used up all my dignity points.
