Last week's 7:
- With or Without You// U2: It was in "Tell Noone", which Greg and Carlos and I went to see last week. Great French film with phenomenal acting and a twisty plot. I thought it was strange to have a U2 song from the 90s in a foreign film, but I guess it's just a sensible.
- Mr. November// The National: I love this band. And Mr. November reminded me of Matt, I suppose.
- Why Didn't You Call Me//Macy Grey: I woke up with this song in my head and it would not leave. I ended up downloading her greatest hits (the existence of which is hilarious to me, b/c she wasn't... you know... that great). Anyway-- it's a good song.
- If You Fall// Azure Ray: On a mix I'm making for a friend. I hadn't listened to Azure Ray since first semester of sophomore year, and then Mike put her on a mix for me last spring, but yeah... kinda worthy.
- Two of Us//The Beatles: This is one of my favorite Beatles songs period, but Carlos put it on a mix he made for me this summer. It's basically been following me around ever since. Anyways-- it's a sweet song.
- And This is For//Murs: One of my favorite of his. Attitude this man has. Flow is another thing he's got.
- Woman (MSTRKRFT Remix)//Wolf Mother: I was in a phase wherein I loved remixes. XXXChange's mix of "The Eraser" by Thom Yorke, Aesop Rock remixing "Lovecraft in Brooklyn" by The Mountain Goats... anyway, this is another one. I like to listen to it when I'm getting ready to go out or something... it's a good song for dancing around like a moron.
So there's that. I'm not doing the playlist b/c, well, I don't feel like it.
FYI-- Aristotle is a ridiculous class. But I will not let it overcome me. I will understand!
My mother leaves for Rwanda on Friday and I'm trying very hard not to freak out. It's rough. She'll be fine, though. God has this woman's back like none other.
And finally, for those of you who don't know, since we've been kind of quiet about it: Matt and I are back together. We'll see how it goes. Both of us are pretty happy about it, though.
Cheers, kids.
H.
