No. 205: Baby, It's Cold Outside!

I'm welcoming the final real onset of Fall-- listening to Marley, praying for small graces, working my butt off, watching good movies, dinner with friends.

Friday is my night to cook for the kids-- soup and bread and salad. Thanks to God for simple meals. I'm a moron and thought I lost my card, so I canceled it, only to find it in my coat pocket. So I'm running on cash and Melissa and I agreed that the best meal you can make for friends, with limited funding, and still have it be delicious, is good soup and crusty bread and a bag-o-salad. So there's that. I recommend doing this with a group of good people once a week. Talk about good stuff, laugh honestly. The more and more I learn about how crappy the world is when you're alone, the more I realize that connection like that is  important, and it's what God gave us to each other for-- communing, and all, with each other and Him. My mom has always been big about stuff like that, too, and it's interesting to see how much the different traditions of our parents can affect us.
Anyway, that.

In preparation for the day of thanks on the last Thursday of this month (which Jo and Nick so graciously invited me to share with them):
*Thanks to Melissa for the rad hair cut.
*Thanks to Kathryn for the great Spain updates.
*Thanks to the people at Carma's this morning who were really patient with me on my first day running the front.
*Thanks to Mom for blowing up the pictures to poster size for me to provide sweet apartment adornments.
 * Thanks to Ally for making class interesting today.
*Big thanks to Ben Mays, currently on the cover of the Hop Newspaper, for wearing a button down and khakis to an election riot on N. Charles st.
 * Thanks to Bob Marley for "Satisfy My Soul".
Thanks also to 10W40 oil, which nourishes my poor automobile on the rare occasions I remember to use it for its purpose, and not as clutter in the backseat of my car.

Cheers.
H.

P.S. @ Midnight, a Happy Birthday to MCP. XXIII is all you, man.
